Barbara Smith Obituary
Barbara Burnette Southern Smith was born November 28, 1969 in Florence, Alabama. Barbara accepted Christ as her savior at Rock P.B. Church and united with St. James M. B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Albert Ingram. She was also a faithful member of Voices of Harmony.
In 2017, Barbara united with Open Door Ministry under the leadership of Apostle Laura Thompson, where she remained until death. Barbara was a graduate of Coffee High School. She served in the United States Navy. After completion in the military, Barbara received her degree in cosmetology where she worked as a stylist in the Florence area. Barbara was a devoted mother, wife and absolutely loved spending time with her grandbabies. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Virginia Duster-Davis, her earthly father, Luther Lee Duster her step-father, Jerry Davis, two brothers: Harry F. Southern Jr and Michael L. Duster
Barbara leaves to cherish her memories a loving husband: Tommy Ray Smith; her children Darion ‘DJ’ Bonton, Deion Bonton, Tasha Abernathy and Meka Johnson; her grandbabies Na’Kyzie, Ky’ris, Da’Miya, Londynn and Da’Liyaa
Siblings: Shirley Adam (Lee) Brenda Duster (Reginald), Donna McCar (Steve), Patricia Bates (Bernard), Juliette Jackson (Tyrone), Jason Davis (Stacy) Siblings: Ray Roach Sistrunk, Krystal Crittenden and Gerald Crittenden
Mother/father in law: Porter & Bessie Smith
Sister in law: Wanda Duster, Rachel Summerhill (Melvin), Kimberly Fuqua, Janet and Melanie Smith, Brother in law: Kelvin Smith (Sharon) Ronnie Fuqua and Rodney Horison.
God sister; Wanda Wells, God Brothers: Timothy Ingram, O’Brian Jones, and Douglas Fuqua
