Alton Davis, III

Mr. Alton Davis, III was born on July 22, 1959 to the late Alton Davis Jr. and Maria Elizabeth Hampton Davis in Tuscumbia, Alabama. Alton departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2019 in the comfort of his home in Sheffield, Alabama. He was surrounded by his mother and family.

Alton attended Bradshaw High School in Florence, Alabama. He worked as a brick mason and auto mechanic until his health failed him and he was no longer able to work. He accepted Christ at an early age. He joined Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Leighton, Alabama. After moving to Houston, Texas, he joined Greater St. Matthew Baptist Church. He recently joined First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia.

Alton met and married Idella Thompson in 1979, and to this union two wonderful children were born; Alisha and Alton IV.

Alton is preceded in death by his father Alton Davis Jr., brother Calvin Hampton Sr., Paternal and Maternal grandparents as well as a niece.

Alton leaves to cherish his memories: a beloved and devoted mother, Maria Elizabeth Hampton Davis of Houston, Texas, a daughter, Alisha Thompson (Demarcus) of Gilbert, Arizona, a son, Alton Davis, IV., of Florence, Alabama, three precious grandchildren: Jeremiah Thompson, Jordin Thompson and Alayah Davis, four brothers: Willis Davis, Gregory Davis, John Davis and Patrick Davis Sr., all on Houston, Texas, a beautiful sister: Gloria Alix (Keith Sr.) of Houston Texas, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Davis will lie in the sanctuary one hour prior to the funeral service. Reverend Otis B. Smith, Pastor
