Margie Garner Obituary

Margie Ree Garner passed away peacefully, after a brief illness on April 04, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. She was born December 17, 1948, in Colbert County, Alabama, to the late Marion Haley and Essie Mae Haley.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion Haley, and Essie Mae Haley; her grandparents, Cleve Guyton, and Anna Nalls; her sister, Mary Armstead; and brother, Anthony Haley.

She dedicated her life to being a beloved wife and mother. She surrounded herself with friends and family that will cherish many memories of her, from the phone chats to the family outings.

Margie also had many passions: love for singing, playing tennis, motorcycles, and fast cars. She was up for it all, she also expressed her love and affection for others, by opening her home providing dinners for family and friends.

She was a figure of strength who never waned in her love for her family and soldiered on even when times were tough. She will always be remembered for her integrity and strong determination to see situations through, no matter what the circumstances were.

Above all her proudest moments was in July of 1973, the day she dedicated her life to Jehovah and continued to enjoy the privilege of teaching the Bible truths to her children.

Up until her end of life, she always remembered Jehovah, she took delight in playing and singing the Kingdom melodies and attending her meetings on zoom. And displaying her strongest quality of endurance in every aspect of her personal life.

Margie leaves to cherish her memories:

her beloved husband of 58 years, Charles W. Garner, Sr.; son, Charles W. Garner, Jr. (Dorcas); daughter, Monica La’Vette Coleman (Kenneth); son, Charleston Chaverx (Erin); seven sisters, Julia Malone, Ruby Goodloe, Evonne Thompson, Anna Pearl Moore (Derrick), Bertha Moore (Tim), Pamela McClure, and Della Hayes (Steve); four brothers, Robert Haley, Oscar Haley, Jeffery Haley (Sandra), and Cleve Haley (Monica); two grandsons, Charles W. Garner III, Dominic Jarvaris Garner (Brasha Garner), granddaughter, Jasmine; three great grandchildren, Chaz Wesley Garner, Michelle Kaye Garner, and Brayden Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
