Lorene (Roberson) Martin

Lorene Roberson Martin (affectionately known as Bunny), a beloved and cherished soul, passed away on April 15th, 2024, in Sheffield, Alabama. Lorene was born on October 18th, 1951, in Colbert County, Alabama to the late Elbert E. Robinson Sr. and Susie Lee Sanders and was raised by the late James E. and Lois R. Bennett.

Lorene's life was one filled with love and laughter. She married her devoted husband of nearly 39 years to William E. Martin and together they raised their son Brian E. Martin (Monica) with an abundance of care and affection.

Family meant everything to Lorene; she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Her siblings Elbert E. Robinson Jr. (Alice), Agnes S. Thompson, Sheila S. Pride (Kenneth), James E. Bennett Jr., her granddaughter Ariana Bates, as well as her nieces, nephews, many family members and friends held a special place in her heart.

Her warm smile and kind-hearted nature touched the lives of all who knew her - especially Sandra Figgers who remained by her side through thick and thin.

Lorene had a passion for cooking that brought joy to those around her table; she found peace among blooming flowers that reflected the beauty she saw in the world around her.

She will be remembered for being family-oriented, honest, caring, empathetic, and bringing lightness into even the darkest moments with her sense of humor.

The loss of Lorene has left an irreplaceable void within our hearts that can never be filled again. We appreciate the love, support, and prayers during this time.
